(Artwork scale in room is approximate)
A copy of the Mona Lisa (after Leonardo da Vinci). In this painting I was attempting to follow some aspects of da Vinci's process, except I didn't add varnish to the paints as this is not archival and I was hoping to learn his 'sfumato' technique - a way of making edges 'smokey'.
To render the skin, I used a lead white grisaille instead of the green Verdaccio underpainting.
